Outfit Diaries // Texture

Each piece in this ensemble has a distinct texture which caused me to worry over whether they would look good when placed into a single outfit. These pieces are all old favorites that I decided to put together which I suppose just goes to show that statement pieces are really more versatile than you think.

The top alone is a daring mix of details from the ballooned sleeves to the chic neckline and thin, lace piece on top. Fashion rules say it probably shouldn’t work with such a complicated skirt, but hey, as long as it looks good, do rules even matter?

Speaking of skirts, this particular one reminds me a bit of Cher from Clueless. Probably because it’s a plaid miniskirt, but if she isn’t one of your style icons then you’re missing out!

I thought the look was a little too monochrome for my taste, so having a nice emerald green is a nice, toned down color to make your look pop. This wristlet is also the perfect size to fit my phone, even with its huge phonecase. More texture, but I like it, somehow.

I went easy with the feet and opted for inconspicuous cream-beige shoes.

I wore this look to a pleasant little movie “date” with a friend of mine. Will you get cheese popcorn on your sleeves? Yes. Will your legs get cold? Yes. Will you look cute? Hell yes.

Try new things, guys! You’ll never know what you’ll end up liking. ❤
