My sister got these as a birthday gift from one of her best friends. These two have been sitting in our makeup bag for so long, and it’s only today that I remembered we had these.

I know that there are already a lot of reviews and swatches of these online, but I still wanted to share a bit of my thoughts. Hope you don’t mind! 🙂

Packaging: Nyx is pretty consistent with how they package their products. It’s always not too fancy nor is it too basic. Both come in an ordinary tube packaging colored with the shade of the liquid lipstick with details of the product written all over. I would say the packaging itself is alright. It does not stand out too much, but when all the shades of this range of lipsticks are lined up all together, they all complement one another.

Formula: Just as the name suggests, this truly feels like a soft matte lip cream. It also feels a bit moussy on the lips. It glides on well and opaquely. I noticed though that the shade Milan, the more bright pink-toned one, is a bit more opaque and a bit thicker than Cannes. I’m not sure if it’s because I use Cannes more; nevertheless, it doesn’t make a big difference and both of these still have a soft and creamy formula.

Application: I always need a mirror when applying these lipsticks. They’re both very pigmented, so I have to be careful on how much I apply and where I apply the product. Too much of the product on the lips can easily cause unevenness. However, it’s much easier to work with these than regular liquid lipsticks since these don’t dry down completely immediately. If you make a mistake, you can use an ordinary tissue and wipe it off.

  • Inexpensive for a liquid lipstick
  • Great pigmentation
  • Wide range of shades

  • Not very long-lasting
  • Milan can emphasize lines of the lips

Rating: 8/10

    1. I would love to try out other darker and less pink-toned shades too! ☺️ I really am not much of a fan of pink-toned lippies, but based from the arm swatches, I think Morocco would work for me! Will definitely check out on that. Thanks for leaving a comment. 🙂
