1. Coffee Body Scrub

I’m not too big on body exfoliation, mainly because I’ve always considered it to be inconvenient, but I was pretty excited to try this particular product. A lot of coffee scrubs can have overwhelming scents, but I find this to be perfectly pleasant, almost like walking into your local cafe.

At first, I was concerned over the possibility of washing this product off and having the remains block the drain, but this dissolves very easily in water and doesn’t leave much of a scent afterwards. Apart from exfoliation, the product also provides moisture for your skin which is apparent in how your skin will feel much softer after. I don’t think it will last that long, but if you use it on concentrated areas in favor of the whole body, it’ll last much longer.

2. Keratin Pure Hair Treatment

I use this daily as a conditioner, and I find that it works very well especially with long, straight hair. A lot of conditioners in the market leave your hair either greasy or flat, so it’s refreshing to have a conditioner that actually maintains the volume of your hair while giving it proper hydration and nourishment. I think the product will last maybe a little over a month, but it’s certainly worth it as it keeps my hair looking good despite not cutting it for maybe a year now. 😂

Above are the results after a single usage.

3. Lip and Cheek Tint

Among all the products given, I must say that this is my personal favorite. When I first opened it, I was rather worried about the shade and formulation. It’s a bright red with orange undertones in the container, but when swatched, it becomes a very intimidating orange. I was worried about how it would look on my skin, especially since I’ve never really thought of orange as a flattering color on me.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with how this product turned out. Although application is a bit difficult, using a lip brush gives you very precise application. The pigmentation is rather intense, but the shade is unexpectedly wearable. I find that it’s one of those shades that makes your skin look brighter and smoother even without base makeup. It also gives a beautiful stain on the lips that remains even after eating.

I think I applied this at around 10:30 am, and it lasted until dinner. I’ve been using this a lot recently, and I usually bring around a similar shade just for reapplication which is rarely necessary. I also prefer placing a nice gloss on top because even though it doesn’t settle into your lines as much as other products or fade significantly, putting gloss makes your lips look plumper and more hydrated.

4. Luminous Soap

Soaps are a little trickier to review because results from skincare like this takes time. I find the shape of this absolutely adorable, but I wish it had better packaging since the clingwrap-like plastic around it isn’t really the best way to store a soap; however, to my understanding, this typically comes in a whitening/brightening set with a packaging of its own hence the lack of flashy packaging for this one individual product.

It doesn’t have any discernible scent, and it doesn’t dissolve easily either. You can use this for the face and body, and I find that there’s an immediate cooling and brightening effect after washing, but it doesn’t stay for very long. It makes for a good cleanser though as it is completely organic and doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight and dry. I believe this also works well for sensitive-skinned individuals as the soap is very gentle.

5. Bleach Perfect Beauty Soap

A tried this last among all the products sent. This is acually My Bareskin Specialist’s bestseller, and I can see why. There’s always been a craze among Filipinos to find effective whitening products. I, myself, hate getting tanned, so I had high hopes for this product. I’m not a big fan of the packaging, but the appearance of the soap itself is really pretty. It almost reminds me of Lush soaps in terms of the marbled colors. The word BARESKIN is also engraved onto the product which makes it one of their most instagram-able products to date.

I’m not too fond of the scent, but it’s quite faint anyway and not severely off-putting. I did notice some lightening in my skintone over the course of weeks, but not too much to be alarming. It also bubbles easily, so you don’t have to use that much to get clean. I think this would work best when partnered with some of their other whitening products. I wouldn’t advice to use this on your face though because it’s stronger than the luminous soap.

Apart from whitening, this product also helps deal with dry, damaged, and scarred skin or pigmentation, blemishes, and stretchmarks. It’s formulated with vitamin A and E and essential fatty acids, all which help nourish your skin and give you a certain glow.

Thank you, My Bareskin Specialist, for sending us these products! x
